By Matanat Nasibova - Trend:

The sales of reinforced concrete structures in Azerbaijan's construction market has been declining in the past two years, Ayaz Abdulhamidov, director of the Tatoglu-Az Beton Konstruksiya industrial company, told Trend.

Abdulhamidov noted that particularly, sales of Tatoglu-Az Beton Konstruksiya in the construction market of the country have decreased by 10 percent.

"This is an indicator of 2018 and 2017. It is difficult to give an unambiguous forecast for the entire current year, but the results of the first two months show that the downward trend in sales will continue in 2019," the director said.

He noted that the company is engaged in the production of water and sewer pipes, sewer wells, curbs and other reinforced concrete structures, and sells its products to construction companies.

"Our products are not intended for export, so we sell them only in domestic market," the director noted.

He added that over the past four years, the construction sector of the country has noticeably weakened.

"Despite this fact, the construction segment in Azerbaijan is much more developed than, for example, in Russia. In my opinion, the decline in the level of development of the construction sector is directly related to financing. During periods of decline in oil revenues, investment by the state in the construction sector is reduced, which ultimately can not but affect the general condition of this sector," Abdulhamidov said.

The director said that the main projects of the company include the construction and reconstruction of sewage systems in Gabala, Agdash and Khachmaz districts, Masazir, Novkhani and Mehdiabad villages, the construction of a sewerage system of the White City in Baku, sewage and drainage systems of the Sumgait polymer plant.

Tatoglu-Az Beton Konstruksiya has been operating in Azerbaijan since 2014.
