Exports of Iranian province’s cooperative companies worth $27.5M

Cooperative companies of Iran’s northern Gilan Province have exported $27.5 million by the end of the 10th month of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2018).

Abbas Alizadeh, the Director General of the Department of Cooperatives, Labour, and Social Welfare (operating under the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labour, and Social Welfare), told IRNA, Trend reports.

According to Alizadeh, the province has 13 cooperative companies involved in exports.

Alizadeh added that the companies have exported products to several countries, including Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Russia, Afghanistan, Turkey, the UAE, Iraq, Pakistan, Canada, Sweden, Germany, India, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Georgia and Ukraine.

"Food products, metal products, detergents, cloth, carpet tables and agricultural products have been exported," he said.

He added that the aim has been set for $30 million worth of exports by cooperative companies for the current Iranian year. More than 87 percent has been realized to date.

There are 2,650 companies with 216,000 employees operating in the Gilan Province of Iran. 2.9 trillion rials (app. $69 million)have been invested in the establishment of cooperative companies.
