Export of Iran's Pars Energy Zone up by 15%

Export of products and gas condensates of Iran’s Pars Special Energy Economic Zone (PSEEZ) increased by 15 percent in terms of value and 9 percent in terms of weight during the 11th month of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2018) compared to the same month last year, Ahmad Pourheydar, Director General of the customs department of PSEEZ, told IRNA, Trend reports.

According to Pourheydar, 1.43 million tons of gas condensates worth $745 million were exported.

"3,03 million tons of products worth $1.29 billion have been exported during the 11th month, including gas condensates, methanol, propane, butadiene, carbamide, butylene 1, ammonia, hydrocarbons, crude oil and other products," he said.

Pourheydar noted that exports grew by 13 percent compared to the 11th month of the previous year.

Pourheydar went on to say that 1.58 million tons of non-oil products worth more than $553 million were exported from the economic zone, adding that there was a 17-percent increase, compared with the same period last year.

"The products of the zone were mainly exported to the UAE, China, South Korea, India, Indonesia, Japan, Taiwan, Italy, France, Belgium, Germany, Russia, Poland and Norway," he said.

Pourheydar also said that 15,900 tons of goods worth $243 million were imported to Iran through this zone during the 11th month.

"The imported products increased by 3 percent in weight terms and 60 percent in terms of value compared to the same month last year," he said.

The Pars Special Energy Economic Zone is located in Asaluyeh County of Iran’s southern Bushehr Province.
