Exports through Iran's Bushehr province almost reach 30 million tons

In the last Iranian year (March 21, 2018-March 20, 2019), including the gas condensates, 29.7 million tons of goods worth $18.7 billion were exported from Iran's Bushehr province, said Mansour Baziar, director general of Bushehr customs administration, Trend reports via IRNA.

Compared to the preceding Iranian year (March 21, 2017-March 20, 2018), exports of goods increased by 24 percent, Baziar said.

He added that 19.9 million tons of non-oil goods worth roughly $11.2 billion were exported, and while the rest accounted to gas condensates.

There was 42 percent increase in the exports of gas condensates, in terms of value, he said.

Main goods exported through the customs of Bushehr are gas condensates, petrochemical products, marine platform supports and related products, mining fertilizers, cement and clinker, sulfur, excavation equipment, shrimps, tomatoes and iron bars, Baziar said.

The main export destinations were China, South Korea, the UAE, India, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, Taiwan and Pakistan, the customs official added.

He further added that most of the exports accounted for the customs of the Pars Special Economic Energy Zone. Including the gas condensates, in terms of weight, 86 percent, and in terms of value, 88 percent of the goods were exported through the customs of this zone.

In the last Iranian year, 554,000 tons of goods worth $1.67 billion were imported through the customs of Bushehr province, he said.

Main imports of the province were power plant equipment, bananas, butter, air handling units, car and motorcycle spare parts, black tea, tires and factory equipment, Baziar said.

The customs official further marked that these goods were imported from China, Russia, the Philippines, the UAE, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Italy, South Korea, Ecuador and Belgium.
