About 5M tons of products transported from Iran’s Shahid Rajaee port

About 5 million tons of oil and non-oil products have been transported from the Shahid Rajaee port in Iran’s southern Hormozgan Province, during the 1st month of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2019), said Allahmorad Afifipour, Director of the Ports and Maritime Department in Hormozgan, Trend reports referring to the website of the Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran.

According to Afifipour, 2.5 million tons of products were exported through the port during the 1st month.

He added that 3,08 million tons of non-oil products and 1,88 million tons of oil products were transported through the port.

Noting that 375,000 tons of non-oil products were imported through port during the 1st month, Afifipour said that this figure dropped by 43.5 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.

He also said that 60,500 tons of non-oil products were transited during the 1st month, while 108,000 tons of goods were transshipped.

"Some 604,000 tons of oil products have been exported through this port within one month," he said.

Afifipour noted that 1.27 million tons of oil products were transported via cabotage during this period, and added that 249 of the 286 vessels moving in the port during the 1st month of the year were over 1,000 tons, while the remaining 37 vessels were lower than 1,000 tons.
