Samarkand Automobile (SamAvto) Plant of Uzbekistan exported 78 units of cars to Afghanistan from March to May 2019, Trend reports via Uzbek media.

Cooperation between the SamAvto plant and the Afghanistan National Procurement Authority began in 2018 with the conclusion of a contract for the delivery of 121 ambulances.

This year, the range of equipment supplied was expanded. Dump trucks, milk trucks, a crane-manipulator, irrigation and combined irrigation sweepers were also shipped to Afghanistan, in addition to 11 units of ambulances.

After arriving in Afghanistan, 65 units of equipment were handed over to the Kabul municipality, and 2 milk trucks were sent to maintain kindergartens.

In order to promote products in Afghanistan, a dealer agreement was signed between SamAvto LLC and Afghan company Ahmad Samir Ahmadi Ltd, according to which SamAvto can sell equipment in Afghanistan, carry out warranty and after-sales service for vehicles and supply spare parts.

SamAvto was established in 1995-1996 for work on a project on creation of a joint venture for the production of buses and trucks of small and medium capacity.

Furthermore, in July 2015, the Japanese Isuzu Motors and the Uzavtosanoat company signed an agreement in Tashkent to sell an 8 percent stake in the authorized capital of the Samarkand Automobile Plant.
