As of May 1, 2019, 238,500 existing enterprises and organizations were recorded in the services sector of Uzbekistan, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
The share of enterprises and organizations engaged in trading activities (36.3 percent) prevails in the structure of the service sector.
The share of existing enterprises and organizations that provide services for accommodation and meals amounted to 9.5 percent.
Official statistics recorded that the proportion of existing enterprises and organizations involved in transportation and storage in the total number of existing organizations and enterprises in the service sector reached 6.1 percent.
The total number of existing enterprises and organizations in the services sector compared to the same period last year increased by 37,800.
In January-April 2019, the number of newly created enterprises and trade organizations reached 16,400 and increased compared to the same period of 2018 by 12,100.
Growth of enterprises and organizations providing accommodation and meals services was recorded at 25.4 percent), their number increased by 4,600.
