Iran imported 1.2 million tons of necessary products within 2 months of this Iranian year (started on March 21, 2019), Executive Director of Iran's State Trading Corporation Yazdan Seif said.
Despite the restrictions of the US and some countries, Iran is being provided with necessary products. Iran's warehouses are full as never before, Seif added, Trend reports referring to Fars news agency.
Some 31 ships supplying the necessary products approached the Iranian ports last week, he said.
Some 11.5 million tons of wheat are expected to be purchased from farmers this year. Some 1.8 million tons of wheat have been already purchased, which is 15 percent more compared to the same period of last year, he said.
Seif added that up to now, farmers have paid about 29 billion rials (about $690,000), i.e. 90 percent of the purchased wheat were paid to the farmers.
