Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan ready to expand co-op

Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan possess great potential for future strengthening of mutually beneficial cooperation, Askar Mamin, the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan said, Trend reports via press office of the prime minister.

Prime minister of Kazakhstan participated in the meeting of Council of Heads of CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) Government in narrow and expanded form of the council in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.

The current year of the CIS is taking place under the presidency of Turkmenistan.

The prospects of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan cooperation of all trade and economic relations direction were discussed.

The prime minister noted, that the bilateral relations between countries are steadily developing.

“We highlight the importance of developing trade and economic relations. Taking into consideration transport infrastructure and shared border, countries possess great opportunity for future increase of mutually beneficial cooperation,” Askar Mamin said.

During the negotiations the prospects of cooperation on energy, space, agriculture spheres, military and industry complex, development of transit corridors were covered.

“The joint target to increase the volume of mutual trade turnover was set. Kazakhstan is ready to make every effort to reach this goal,” the prime minister said.
