In order to promote business development in Azerbaijan, it is planned to open a facility for processing of livestock products, Sakina Babayeva, Head of the Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan, told Trend.
She said that a new facility for washing and cleaning of sheep wool and skins will open in Goranboy district.
“Earlier, it was planned to create such facilities in Imishli, Bilasuvar and Tovuz districts,” she noted. “The work in this direction continues. The opening of such facilities will contribute to the creation of new jobs in the regions, and also will help to organize the export of processed livestock products, primarily to Turkey. There is a great demand for this type of product in the Turkish market, so this is the priority direction for us.”
She added that such facilities in the regions will be created with the direct participation of the association and the support of the state.
“In the coming years, similar mini facilities are planned to be created in ten districts of Azerbaijan,” she said. “We believe that by the end of this year, such facilities will be opened in three or four districts. This process will also continue next year.”
She noted that the opening of new small facilities of a similar type is necessary for the development of the private sector and of the export of the livestock products.
The Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan was established with the support of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs of Azerbaijan in October 2017.
Over 143,000 women are engaged in business in Azerbaijan, according to the statistics.
