In January-May of 2019, the volume of vehicles in manufactured Kazakhstan amounted to 16,921 units worth 114.7 billion tenge, which is 42.8 percent more compared to the same period of the last year, Trend reports with reference to press office of Association of Kazakhstan Automobile Business.
The major part (15,773 units) of manufacturing volume accounts for passenger cars (+41.5 percent compared to the same period of the last year). The number of trucks amounted to 495 units (+34.9 percent), of buses to 404 units (+220.6 percent), of trailers to 270 units (+35 percent) and of other special special operations vehicles to 19 units (-48.6 percent).
Furthermore, the sales of locally manufactured cars amounted to 56 percent of total volume of sales.
“During five months of 2019, the sales of locally manufactured cars increased by 41 percent and amounted to 14,300 units, whereas the total volume of sales increased by 19 percent. The main reason behind the growth is the decision of National Bank of Kazakhstan to increase funding of preferential auto credits, as well as the increasing demand for Hyundai cars manufactured in Kostanay region,” the report said.
Saryarkaautoprom plant is among leaders in May with the manufacturing volume of 2,174 units of passenger cars, cargo vehicles and buses (+9.9 percent compared to April 2019).
Furthermore, 1,570 vehicles were manufactured at Asia Auto plant in May, which is 16.4 percent less than in the same period of last year.
