Iran's Aras Free Zone exports increase

The volume of exports goods produced in Aras Free Zone has grown last Iranian year (started March 21, 2018), despite US sanctions.

The Managing Director of Aras Free Zone Mohsen Nariman discussed the statistics of exports to neighbor countries in an interview with Trend.

"Production units in Aras Free Zone exported 32 percent of their products to Azerbaijan, which was the biggest customer. Last Iranian year, 6.700 million kilos of goods valued at $28.2 million were exported to this country," he noted.

"About 27 percent of Aras Free Zone products including 45.2 million kilo goods worth $22.8 million were exported to Turkey, and 14.9 million kilos of goods valued at $15.2 million were exported to Russia," he said.

"The major export goods included bitumen, gasoline, hydrocarbon, PVC, various bags, polyethylene ropes, nuts, polyester string, textile, pepper, tomato, jumbo bags and cardboards," he said. "Other items were UPVC Profile, MDF Melamin , green house equipment, cabinet boards, furniture, electronic ovens, car batteries, unwoven textile, felt, and silicone."

"The value of exports goods produced in Aras Free Zone reached $114 million. In total, goods worth $251 million were exported through the zone despite the sanctions, and the volume has increased by $12 million comparing to 2017," he added.
