Turkey-Iran trade shrinks by over $200 million in May 2019

In May 2019, Turkey's trade turnover with Iran decreased by $218.561 million compared to May 2018 and amounted to $727.375 million, Trend reports referring to Turkish Ministry of Trade.

In May 2019, Turkey's exports to Iran amounted to $229.766 million, while imports from Iran amounted to $497,609 million.

The ministry noted that the trade turnover between Turkey and Iran in January-May 2019 also decreased by $471 million compared to the same period in 2018 and amounted to $3.592 billion.

In January-May 2019, Turkey's exports to Iran amounted to $1.022 billion, while imports from Iran equaled to $2.570 billion.

The total foreign trade turnover of Turkey in May 2019 amounted to $34.633 billion.

In May 2019, Turkish exports increased by 0.5 percent compared to May 2018 and amounted to $16.334 billion.

In the reported period, Turkey's imports decreased by 17.81 percent compared to May 2018 and amounted to $18.299 billion.
