By Matanat Nasibova - Trend:

Canning factory in Azerbaijan’s Sabirabad district, which is also engaged in fruit juices production, plans to greatly increase production volumes this year, Trend reports with reference to a source in the factory’s administration.

The factory produces about 10 million bottles of pomegranate juice, narsharab (pomegranate sauce) and pomegranate concentrate annually, according to the source.

“The production capacity of the plant allows increasing the current volumes to 15 million bottles per year,” the source said. “At this point, we are striving for this goal in order to increase the export potential of the enterprise. We are negotiating in this direction with potential customers from Germany. It is planned to start deliveries to the German market before the end of the year, after concrete agreements are reached.”

The source also noted that the growth in production depends largely on export orders.

“We have the opportunity to significantly increase the production potential, if there are appropriate volumes of orders,” the source added.

Presently, the lion’s share of exports accounts for the market of Russia and Ukraine, according to the source. “Supplies to these two countries are stable, and the volumes of exports to Russia are growing,” the source said.

Sabirabad canning factory has been operating since 1982. Products manufactured by the factory have a Certificate of Conformity issued by the State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patents of Azerbaijan.

The company has installed equipment manufactured in Italy and Moldova.
