Over 20 textile companies in Turkey are leaving Istanbul and moving to Diyarbakir Province, Trend reports referring to the Turkish media.
It is reported that this is due to the availability of cheaper labor in Diyarbakir compared to more expensive Istanbul.
According to media reports, more than 40 textile companies left Istanbul for the same reason since the beginning of the year, relocating their factories to Diyarbakir Province.
It is reported that the movement of textile companies from Istanbul to Diyarbakir has had a positive impact on the economic development of the province.
"The total investment of textile companies in Diyarbakir Province amounted to 400 million liras," said the report.
