Azerbaijan among top 3 fuel exporters to Georgia

In January-June 2019 imports of gasoline and diesel fuel to Georgia amounted to 494,300 tons, which is 22,500 tons less than in the same period of 2018 (516,800 tons), Trend reports with reference to the Georgian Oil Products Importers Union.

In January-June 2019, gasoline imports to Georgia amounted to 259,700 tons (an increase of 3,000 tons compared to the same period last year), while imports of diesel fuel amounted to 234,600 tons (a decrease of 25,5 thousand tons compared to the same period last year).

According to the fuel categories, in the first half of the year 66.3 percent of the gasoline imported into the country accounted for A-91 (regular), 31.8 percent for A-95 (premium), 1.8 percent for A-98 (super). Mainly imported diesel of brand Euro diesel.

According to the union, as in the past year, the largest volume of fuel was imported to Georgia from Russia - deliveries in January-June increased by 5.7 percent, to 151,800 tons (30.7 percent of total imports). Romania comes in second with 130,200 tons of fuel (26.3 percent), Azerbaijan - 97,000 tons (19.6 percent), Bulgaria – 47,000 tons (9.5 percent), Turkmenistan – 42,600 tons (8.6 percent), Greece – 25,100 tons (5.1 percent) and other countries.

According to the National Statistics Office of Georgia, in January-June 2019, fuel in Georgia (gasoline and diesel fuel) increased in price by 0.5 percent, for the year (from June 2018) - by 4.7 percent.
