According to him, Iran's Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) is implementing a number of programs for develop trade relations with African countries.

Ghamari added that the African market can be one of the ways for developing Iran’s non-oil exports.

Speaking at the forum, head of the TPO Mohammad Reza Modudi said that Iran's trading share in Africa amounts to less than $600 million a year.

He went on to say that banking problems are among the main causes of low trade between Iran and Africa besides the sanctions imposed on Iran.

Modudi also said that other infrastructural problems, including a lack of shipping and transportation lines, have led to a lack of trade.

"If problems are resolved, Iran can take an active part in the African market with oil products, polymer products and agricultural products," he said.
