Governor General of Iran’s Khorasan Razavi province Alireaza Razm Hosseini has met with Consul General of Turkmenistan in Mashad Ilyas Gaiypov to discuss issues of mutual interest, Trend reports via IRNA.
Having noted that there are 500 kilometers of common borders between Khorasan Razavi and Turkmenistan, Razm Hosseini said: “The capacities of this province in the rail transit, transportation and export sectors are at good level.”
The official noted that the relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Turkmenistan in the fields of culture, politics and economics have a very good background.
The Turkmen Consul General in Mashad presented his country’s official invitation to the Governor General of Khorasan Razavi to attend the Caspian Economic Forum.
The forum will be held in Awaza resort town of Turkmenistan on August 12, with the presence of government officials and economic experts from the Islamic Republic of Iran, Russia, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.
Turkmenistan and Iran border on the Caspian Sea and have a long land border. Over the years of long-term cooperation, they have implemented a number of large-scale joint projects.
As of February 1, 2018, 89 investment projects have been registered in Turkmenistan with the participation of Iranian companies, the total value of which makes up $1,310.95 million, 0.8 million euro and 0.81 million Turkmenistan manats (TMT).
According to the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan, there are 142 enterprises of various forms of ownership with the participation of Iranian capital, including limited partnerships, subsidiaries, representative offices, and branches.
