Number of flights to be increased in Turkey

In order to raise the tourist flow to Turkey, the number of flights will be increased as part of agreements between the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Turkish Airlines (THY), a source in the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism told Trend.

The THY planes perform 70 flights weekly in the airports of Antalya, Bodrum, Dalaman and Izmir provinces, according to the ministry.

“Until 2023, the THY will carry out 500 flights a week as part of an agreement with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism,” the ministry said.

As many as 4.022 million tourists visited Turkey in May 2019, which is 9.35 percent more compared to the same period in 2018.

During this period, over 1 million tourists visited Istanbul, while 1.7 million tourists visited Antalya.

In January-May 2019, 12.757 million tourists visited Turkey, which is 11.30 percent more compared to January-May 2018.
