Prices for natural gas, gasoline and electricity for the population will increase, in accordance with the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan "On the change in prices and tariffs for fuel and energy resources" dated July 30, Trend reports citing Uzbek media.

New fares will take effect from 15 August.

Where metering exists, the tariff amounts to 380 soums per cubic meter of gas instead of 320 soums. If citizens do not have the meter, they will have to pay the same 380 soums (instead of 320 per cubic meter) plus 660 soums (553 soums now) per cubic meter for cooking and hot water.

A kilogram of liquefied gas sold to households for consumption will cost 1,120 soums (+ 17.8 percent) instead of the current 950 soums.

It is envisaged that prices for gasoline AI-80 and diesel fuel will increase by 12.5 percent, taking into account the excise tax. Now they cost 4,000 and 4,800 soums, respectively, and after the price increase, the price will be 4,500 and 5,400 soums per liter.

The cost of ECO-diesel fuel, which today is 4,900 soums, will be raised by 16.3 percent and will total to 5,700 soums. The price of gasoline AI-91 will be determined by exchange trading.

As reported, certain categories of citizens will be able to receive a monthly compensation in the amount of 75,000 soums to partially cover expenses for purchasing gasoline.

Considering the growth of electricity tariffs, the cost of 1 kW / hour of electricity for residential consumers will increase from 250 soums to 295 soums, by 18 percent. For other consumer categories, the cost of 1 kW / hour of electricity will be 450 soums.

It is planned to increase the minimum wage, so that the tariff reform will be accepted by citizens smoothly.

($1=8654.26 soums on July 31)
