Iran's Saravan county produces almost 40,000 tons of dates annually

Annually, 38,100 tons of dates are produced in Saravan county of Iran's Sistan and Baluchestan province, Director of Saravan Agricultural Jihad Organization Shirzad Kamali said, Trend reports via IRNA.

The county has a total of 11,200 hectares of date palm orchards, Kamali said.

He noted that over 60 types of dates are cultivated in Saravan.

Saravan's date production meets the country's domestic demand and is exported to a number of countries, such as Pakistan, Turkey and Germany, he said.

Saravan county of Iran's Sistan and Baluchestan province borders Pakistan to the west and has 13,500 hectares of orchards and 3,800 hectares of sown fields.
