Salt producer in Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan to increase output

Nakhchivan Salt Production LLC, a salt producer in Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR), has increased output by 10 percent since early 2019, Director of the company Anar Asadullayev told Trend.

The director noted that the output amounted to approximately 6,000 tons of salt last year.

"By the end of 2019, we plan to increase the production capacity of the enterprise to 7,000 or more. Currently, new deposits have been identified in the territory of the Boyukduz salt deposit in the territory of the Kangarli district of the NAR, which suggests that the production volumes will increase in future," Asadullayev said.

The director noted that excavation work on the territory of the salt deposit in the NAR will continue until the end of this year.

"In the future we plan to export our products to neighboring countries, primarily to Georgia. We are currently waiting for proposals regarding the volumes of deliveries from partners in Georgia. We expect to include other countries of the region into our list of export destinations in the future," he said.

The company produces table salt and technical salt.

The products have a certificate of conformity issued by the State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patents, as well as a hygiene certificate issued by the Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology of the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan.

The company uses modern equipment of Russian, Turkish and Iranian production.
