Iran to send export consultants to foreign countries

Iran plans to send export consultants to 15 countries to improve the trade cooperation with them, said the deputy industry minister in trade affairs, Trend reports citing ILNA.

"It is expected that the role of the consultants will change. They will be obligated to report back the latest conditions of the market in other countries and activities of rival companies, and provide recommendations on how to increase demands," said Hossein Modares Khyabani.

The official emphasized that business representatives will work in the countries, which imports Iran's industrial goods.

"Considering the foreign exchange and trade policies, there are suitable opportunities for the country to develop the industry," he noted. "The difference between foreign currency rate and rial has caused the fall of imports even smuggling is not justified anymore."

"As a result of the current foreign exchange policies, the import tariffs have increased hence. While there is drop in imports, the rise of foreign currency rate is a good advantage for industrial companies to increase their exports," he said.

"One of our objectives in trade and exports is to increase the volume of transaction with 15 neighbor countries, so the exports visa has been activated. The provinces can play important role in identifying the import needs of neighbor countries and supplying necessary goods," he noted.

In his words, around 60 percent of Iran's exports go to China, the United Arab Emirates, Afghanistan and Iraq. The country's exports to these destination countries during last Iranian year (started March 21, 2018) reached $44 billion.

"Our aim is to export 15 items of goods to 15 countries and set it as the priority for industrial associations and companies to boost the cohesion with foreign markets," he added.
