By Fakhri Vakilov-Trend:

This year, the Ministry of Agriculture is scheduled to deliver 10,640 units worth 2.6 trillion soums of agricultural machinery and equipment, Trend reports citing the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan.

In the first quarter of 2019, 2,609 units worth 128.1 billion soums of new equipment were delivered, of which 1,387 pieces worth 34.2 billion soums on a leasing basis; renewal rate of the technical fleet is 2.1 percent, and the security level is 87 percent.

In order to eliminate the deficiency, a program of measures is developed together with the relevant departments for second-fourth quarter of 2019, providing for the supply of 7,340 pieces of equipment for 2.1 trillion soums.

It is also determined that interest on loans and leasing agreements for the purchase of all types of tractors, wheat and cotton seeders made in Uzbekistan, as well as three or more plow bodies will be covered from the State budget of Uzbekistan in the amount of 10 percent of the interest rate determined by commercial banks and leasing companies.

More than 25 percent of existing agricultural equipment in Uzbekistan has been operating for more than 15 years; therefore, providing agricultural producers with high-quality and affordable machinery is an advanced task and requires government support.
