Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin has launched first production of the ModeX modular homebuilding plant at the Industrial Park No. 1 of the Astana – New City SEZ in Nur-Sultan, Trend reports with reference to the press office of the prime minister.

“The construction sector is the most dynamically developing sector of the Kazakhstan economy (11.5 percent growth). This project will not only increase housing affordability for the country's population, but also give impetus to the development of the construction industry,” said Mamin.

The project with full localization in Kazakhstan is being implemented by the BI Group holding. The plant will create over 700 new work places and 405,000 square meters of housing per year, which will increase not only the employment of the population, but also the provision of citizens with affordable housing.

The first phase of the plant is scheduled to be launched on December 1, 2019, the second in 2020, the third in 2021. A dual education system is provided for the training of personnel.

Furthermore, Mamin also got acquainted with the production technology of modular block rooms from expanded clay concrete and reinforced concrete products, including the Smart Home option, which includes about 100 functions of an intelligent home.

Modular housing construction is a modern advanced housing construction technology used in Germany, Singapore, China and other countries. It allows to effectively reduce the cost and time of building buildings, which makes housing more affordable.
