Business sector turnover increases by over 25% in Georgia

The volume of business sector turnover in Georgia increased by 26.6 percent and amounted to 25.2 billion lari in the second quarter of 2019 compared to the same quarter of previous year, Trend reports via the Georgian National Statistics Office (Geostat).

The production value of the business sector is characterized by the growth tendency. In the second quarter of 2019, its volume equaled 11.2 billion lari, which is year-on-year 12 percent higher.

In the second quarter of 2019, 52.3 percent of total turnover falls on large and 20.5 percent - on medium businesses, while 27.2 percent is distributed to small business.

In the second quarter of 2019, average monthly remuneration of employed persons equaled 1,241.1 lari (year-on-year increase by 90.7 lari) while remuneration of employed women made up 946.1 lari (year-on-year increase by 73.2 lari). Average monthly remuneration of employed persons by size of enterprises is as follows: large business – 1,251 lari, medium business – 1,407.7 lari, small business – 1,132.6 lari.

A small difference is in case of total production value: 40.1 percent falls on large, 25.8 percent – on medium and 34.1 percent on small businesses.

In the second quarter of 2019, 36.5 percent of total number of employees fell on large, 21.4 percent – on medium and 42.1 percent - on small businesses.

The total number of employed people amounted to 646,000 (year-on-year 4 percent higher). The total personnel costs of enterprises equaled 2,458.5 million lari (year-on-year 13.8 percent higher).
