Kazakhstan’s Kazmortransflot to reconsider its investment projects

Kazakhstan’s National Maritime Shipping Company Kazmortransflot will reconsider its own investment projects, the company told Trend.

Previously the list of perspective projects of the company till 2022 included four projects:

The first project was on construction or acquisition and operation of two universal ferry crafts. The project’s objective was development of new transport-logistical system which gives additional possibility of organization of export and import of cargo.

The second was on construction or acquisition of two vessels of service fleet. The project’s objective was creation of own service fleet and implementation of the State program of development of fields of the Kazakhstan’s sector of the Caspian Sea.

The third project was on construction or acquisition of oil spill response vessel. The project’s objective was creation of own service fleet and oil spill response service on oil or gas fields of the Kazakhstan sector of the Caspian Sea.

The fourth project was on construction or acquisition and operation of two oil Aframax or Suezmax tankers on Black, Mediterranean and Baltic Seas. The project’s objective was expansion of geography of activities of company by organization and implementation of tanker transportation of the Kazakhstan hydrocarbon raw materials in the high seas.

However, according to the source in the company, due to the recent changes in strategy of Caspian Sea’s shelf development, the company is currently reconsidering its own investment projects.
