The Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan is working on developing a strategy for women’s entrepreneurship in the districts, Head of the Association Sakina Babayeva told Trend.

She said that the strategy envisages expansion of a network of trainings in the districts for women entrepreneurs.

“Over the past 3-4 months of this year, the Association has significantly increased the number of trainings in the districts,” she noted. “As part of these events, specialists from various fields instruct the young women entrepreneurs how to compile a business plan, skills for conducting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Such trainings are conducted in 10 Azerbaijani districts, and there are positive results of our activities in three of these districts. Small enterprises have opened and are operating in these districts. They include Oguz, Tovuz and Sheki districts.”

She added that women of these three districts are most actively involved in entrepreneurial activity.

The Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan was established with the support of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs of Azerbaijan in October 2017.

Over 143,000 women are engaged in business activity in Azerbaijan, according to the statistics.
