Baku, Azerbaijan, Sept. 9
By Fakhri Vakilov-Trend:
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed the relevant departments to conduct probing of the country's land fund from outer space by the end of 2020, at a meeting devoted to the priority tasks of agricultural development in 2020-2030, Trend reports with reference to the press service of the head of state.
“The necessity is indicated for the completion of the work on space probing that began this year - by the end of 2020, which will allow a reliable assessment of the real state of land and crops,” the press service reported.
As noted, this system will provide comprehensive information about the vegetative process, reclamation state and level of mineralization and soil moisture, which will contribute to an increase in yield by 25-30 percent.
With access to the system and farmers, exporters will be able to monitor where and what crops are grown, which will help to build business plans and assess market conditions with confidence.
In addition, the responsible persons were entrusted with fundamentally improving the system of maintaining agricultural statistics, in particular, introducing digital technologies in all processes from the placement of crops to the sale of finished products.
Earlier Trend reported that Mirziyoyev on August 30 signed a decree on the development of space activities in the country and the creation of the Agency for Space Research and Technology "Uzbekcosmos".
The tasks of “Uzbekcosmos” will include the implementation of state programs for the development of the space industry in Uzbekistan, the development of the infrastructure of the space industry, research and technology, research and development, experimental design and innovative work, as well as assisting state bodies in increasing the efficiency of solving problems through the use of stratospheric and other unmanned aerial and spacecraft for remote sensing of the earth and satellite communications.
