Kazakhstan to restructure export, aiming at prioritized markets

The prioritized market for Kazakhstan’s export, in order to expand export destinations will be countries of Central Asia, Russia and China, the Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan Bakhyt Sultanov said, Trend reports with reference to the ministry.

According to the minister, within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), the ministry is working on relevant issues and strategic destinations, as well as implementation of work on reducing barriers, which prevent Kazakh goods from being promoted on markets of EAEU countries.

“We are aiming to actively participate in all negotiating tracks of WTO, which could be of benefit to Kazakhstan,” Sultanov said.

The Center for the Development of Trade Policy, which has been restructured to QazTrade has become a Single Window for exporters, the report said. The center will work as an agent between exporters and state authorities, as well as will provide for the ministry’s implementation of unified coordinated export policy in cooperation with sectoral governmental bodies, National Chamber of Entrepreneurs Atameken and Baiterek Holding.

“It is important to not only increase total volume of export but also to change its structure, i.e. from raw material to goods of processing industry,” the minister said.

At the same time, according to Sultanov, the ministry is to develop the additional complex of measures aimed at support of high performance medium companies, which are exporting their products.

“To this day the business does not a clear understanding of requirements for entering foreign markets. This issue includes a number of financial, analytical and service aspects,” Chairman of the Board of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan Atameken Ablay Myrzakhmetov said.

He expressed confidence that business with receive a firm guarantor represented by the ministry on protection of their interests on global markets and national interests in economic integration processes.
