By Matanat Nasibova - Trend:

Azerbaijan plans to open another wine house in China, the Deputy Economy Minister of Azerbaijan Rufat Mammadov told Trend.

According to the deputy minister, the second wine house is planned to be opened in Urumqi, China.

"Last year, we opened the first wine house in Urumqi, and perhaps by the end of this year Azerbaijan will open the second wine house in this city. At the moment, there is active work in this direction. Two Azerbaijani wine houses are already operating in China, one of which is located in Shanghai," Mammadov said.

Mammadov noted that Azerbaijan intends to expand the geography of wine houses abroad, as well as increase the export potential of the wine industry.

"There are no restrictions on the volume of deliveries of wine products outside the country, therefore, given the great demand for Azerbaijani wines, we intend to increase export volumes to potential markets. The main markets for Azerbaijani wines are Russia and China. At the same time, the greatest demand abroad is for the pomegranate wine of Azerbaijani production. Despite serious competition, we purposefully promote our products under the brand 'Made in Azerbaijan'," he said.

The deputy minister noted that, taking into account the specificity of this type of product, an individual approach is set to each country.
