The external merchandise trade (excluding non-declared trade) of Georgia amounted to $8,126.1 million in January-August 2019, 0.01 percent higher year-on-year, Trend reports via the Georgian National Statistics Office (Geostat).
The value of export increased by 12.4 percent reaching $2,411.6 million, while the import decreased by 4.4 percent and amounted to $5,714.5 million. The trade deficit equaled $3,302.9 million and its share in trade turnover made 40.6 percent.
The external merchandise trade (excluding non-declared trade) of Georgia amounted to $7,065.3 million in January-July 2019, 0.2 percent lower year-on-year.
The exports equaled $2,102.2 million (12.4 percent higher), while the imports stood at $4,963.1 million (4.7 percent lower). The negative trade balance was $2,860.9 million in January-July 2019 and its share in external trade turnover constituted 40.5 percent.
The exports excluding re-exports amounted to $1,311.9 million, 1.6 percent higher year-on-year.
