Over $2.2M of physical entities' loans debt written off in Kazakhstan

As of September 17, 2019, the penalty on loans worth 875.2 million tenge (approximately $2.270 million) has been written off from accounts of 177,065 physical entities, who have paid the main debt worth 3.5 billion tenge, Trend reports with reference to the State Revenue Committee of Kazakhstan.

During the period since September 5 to September 17, penalty worth 186.9 million tenge has been written off from accounts of 62,216 physical persons.

The largest number of physical entities who have paid the main debt are living in Almaty city (35,111 persons), Kostanay (27,587 persons) and Turkestan regions (12,777 persons). The least number of those who have paid for the main debt live in North Kazakhstan (3,700 persons), West Kazakhstan (1,999 persons) and Kyzylorda (1,549 persons) regions of the country.

The largest value of the main debt has been paid in Almaty city (1.979 billion tenge), Nur-Sultan city (185.200 million tenge) and Almaty region (161.900 million tenge).

The largest value of the written off penalty accounts for Almaty city (363.3 million tenge), Pavlodar region (143.2 million tenge) and Almaty region (47.2 million tenge).

Within the framework of the implementation of the decree of the president dated June 26, 2019 “On measures to reduce the debt burden of citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan”, the National Bank, State Credit Bureau JSC, Fund for Problem Loans JSC together with second-tier banks and microfinance organizations decided to write off the fines and penalties on unsecured consumer loans at banks and microfinance organizations for all Kazakhs accumulated by July 1, 2019.
