Uzbek cars manufacturer UzAutoMotors is holding negotiations to establish cars assembling in Russia, Trend reports with reference to Uzbek media.

Thus, according to the information, currently the negotiations with Russian party are active and their results will become known before the end of 2019.

“The Derways plant in Russia’s Karachay-Cherkessia is being considered as one of the future sites for establishing assembling. The procurement of GM plant in Saint Petersburg is also being considered,” the statement said.

“The organization of local manufacturing makes sense only in the case if the targeted volume of manufacturing will be no less that 50,000 cars a year,” the report said.

Furthermore, according to the information, there already are potential purchasers of Uzbek cars in Russia. The Russians are first and foremost interested in Ravon cars, which recently re-entered the Russian market.
