As at August 1, 2019, the number of operating ventures of small and medium business in Kazakhstan’s Zhambyl region increased by 6,331 companies compared to January 1, 2019, and by 10,901 companies compared to January 1, 2018, a representative of the regional akimat (administrative center) told Trend.
According to the source, currently, small and medium business is actively developing in the region.
“At the moment, subjects of small and medium business are playing a key role in economic development of any country. The akimat of the region is implementing a targeted work in cooperation with financial institutes on increase of positive impact of the business on the social and economic development of the region ,” the official said.
According to the representative, the issue of development of small and medium business in the region is reflected by the fact that, as of August 1, 2019, the region is fifth in the country by the speed of the increase of operation small and medium business ventures.
“According to the statistics, the number of small and medium business ventures in the region amounted to 69,593 companies, which is 8.3 percent more than at the beginning of the year and by 18 percent more than at the beginning of 2018,” the official noted.
Furthermore, as noted by the representative, the increase in the number of small and medium business ventures is related to the annual growth in the number of those interested in self-employment, as well as to the annual increase of the volume of state support to the entrepreneurship.
“This year in relation to it being named the Year of the Youth, 21 million tenge have been allocated from the republican budget within the framework of Business Roadmap 2020, and 303 million tenge have been allocated from the budget for the increase of the number of new entrepreneurship projects, As a result, 153 young entrepreneurs received grants for implementation of their business projects,” the source concluded.
