Most of foreign investments were made in Iran’s north-eastern Razavi Khorasan province during the period of the US sanctions imposed against Iran, Huseyn Fazil Khayyat, head of the investment center in Razavi Khorasan province, said.
Some 37 projects worth $180 million were implemented last Iranian year (March 21, 2018 - March 21, 2019) with the participation of a foreign investor, Khayyat added, Trend reports referring to IRNA.
Some 17 projects worth about $120 million have been approved since the beginning of this Iranian year (started on March 21, 2019), he said.
According to the Iranian government's Foreign Investment Promotion and Protection Act, the guarantee has been made for the investors that their property rights will not be abolished, their property will not be confiscated and such problems will not arise, Khayyat said.
The US imposed sanctions on Iran in November 2018 and expanded the list of sanctions in several stages.
