By Elnur Baghishov - Trend:

Ingots of non-ferrous metals account for over 90 percent (in monetary terms) of exports of Iran's Zanjan province, Director General of Zanjan Customs Administration Hamid Ahmadi said, Trend reports citing ISNA.

In the first five months (March 21 - August 22) of the current Iranian year, total exports of the province amounted to $82 million, Ahmadi said.

He added that Turkey, Iraq and Afghanistan accounted for 67.2 percent, 7.62 percent and 4.76 percent respectively of Zanjan's exports.

"Most of Zanjan's trade is with neighboring countries. Therefore, the US sanctions won't affect it much," he said.

The US imposed sanctions on Iran in November 2018 and expanded the list of sanctions in several stages.
