Uzbekistan's State Statistics Committee talks price increases in September 2019

The average price increase in the consumer market of Uzbekistan for September amounted to 1.3 percent, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

In general, for the nine months of 2019, goods in the consumer market became more expensive by 9.7 percent.

Regarding September 2018, the average price level in the consumer sector of Uzbekistan increased by 16 percent.

A monthly comparison of short-term composite consumer price indices for the nine months of 2019 and 2018 revealed that the maximum gap in indicators also fell in August (2.9 percent in 2019 against 0.3 percent in 2018).

According to calculations, the average monthly increase in the composite consumer price index for January-September 2019 amounted to 1 percent, for January-September 2018 - 0.9 percent.

In general, for the three quarters of 2019, food products added 8.4 percent, non-food products - 8.8 percent, services - 13.7 percent.

In annual terms (September 2019 compared to September 2018), food products became more expensive by 17.5 percent, non-food products - by 12.1 percent, services - by 19.5 percent.

The long-term consumer price index calculated by December 2017 for food products amounted to 24.5 percent, non-food products - 22.3 percent, services - 31.7 percent.

According to the calculation results, the average monthly increase in the consumer price index from January 2018 to September 2019 for food products amounted to 1 percent, non-food products - 1 percent, services - 1 percent.
