Azerbaijan will supply 10 Khazar SD cars produced by the joint Azerbaijan-Iran auto factory in the Neftchala industrial zone to Russia, Azerbaijani ambassador to Iran Bunyad Huseynov said.
Huseynov made the remarks at the meeting with Chairman of the Tabriz Chamber of Commerce Younes Jael, Trend reports on Oct. 3.
“The cars will be supplied to Russia under the Made in Azerbaijan brand,” he said.
The ambassador added that advanced technologies and modern equipment are used at this factory and the production capacity is 10,000 sedans of various models.
He reminded that the joint factory was opened during Iranian President Hassan Rouhani’s official visit to Baku in April 2018 on the basis of agreements between the big Iranian automaker Iran Khodro and the Azerbaijani company Azeurocar (a subsidiary of AzerMash).
The total cost of the project amounted to 24 million manats, while 75 percent of investments in the factory were made by the Azerbaijani side and 25 percent by the Iranian side.
