Kazakhstan Railways, Spain's Talgo reconsider previous agreements

Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC (Kazakhstan Railways, KTZ) and Spain’s Patentes Talgo S.L.U. have reconsidered the agreements of future cooperation as a result of negotiations held since the beginning of 2019, Trend reports with reference to the press office of KTZ.

Thus, parties signed a number of revised agreements on mutually beneficial terms, in accordance to which a subsidiary of KTZ is to purchase share of Talgo Kazakhstan S.L. in Tulpar Talgo JSC in the volume of 0,00074 percent.

The terms of the agreements for supply of spare parts for trains assembling have been reconsidered, in accordance to which the completion of assembling of 62 trains with signing of additional agreements and further completion of passenger trains manufacturing via Talgo technology is overseen.

In turn, Patentes Talgo S.L.U.is to continue technical maintenance of Talgo manufactured trains, in accordance to which the mutually acceptable amendments have been made to the terms of the previously signed agreement for technical support, including its extension for additional nine years (from 2027 to 2036).

In October, KTZ has announced that it has initiated negotiations with prospective investors for manufacturing of passenger trains on the base of Tulpar Talgo plant.
