Uzbekistan to sell wheat only through exchange

Uzbekistan’s Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution on the full implementation of market mechanisms in the supply system of grain, flour and bread, Trend reports via Uzbek media.
According to the document, from Oct. 15, wheat from the 2019 harvest which is not intended for the production of flour will be sold to all categories of grain consumers only through the Uzbek Commodity Exchange.
Furthermore, the flour obtained from the processing of wheat purchased as part of public procurement will be sold to all consumers at open exchange trading with a prepayment of 100 percent.
In addition, 1 ton of wheat from the 2019 harvest will be sold at a wholesale price of $137,64 for the production of flour.
