Kazakhstan's imported goods increase in price

Following the end of first eight months of 2019, prices of imported by Kazakhstan increased by 8.1 percent compared to the same period of last year and by 4.7 percent compared to the beginning of the year, Trend reports with reference to the data of Kazakh Statistics Committee.

Out of the imported goods, increase of pricing since the beginning of the year is observed on vegetables by 40.6 percent, confectionery by 9.6 percent, rice by 8.5 percent, fish by 8.2 percent, tobacco by 7.4 percent, noodles by 6.6 percent, milk products by 6 percent, coffee by 5.4 percent, vegetable oil by 5.3 percent, poultry meat by 4.3 percent, tea by 4.1 percent.

In turn, sugar prices decreased by 7 percent, fruit and nuts by 6.9 percent, cocoa by 4 percent.

Prices of medicine increased by 9.8 percent, plastic by 6.9 percent, construction materials by 5.1 percent, textile products by 4.8 percent, wood by 4.6 percent.

In turn, goods of Kazakh export increased by 2.8 percent compared to the same period of last year and by 2.5 percent since the beginning of the year.

Over the course of reporting period, export pricing of iron ore increased by 41 percent, coal by 17.4 percent, ferrous metals products by 6 percent, ferrous metals rolling by 5.9 percent, lead by 5.4 percent, oil by 3.7 percent.

Decrease of pricing is observed on ferroalloys by 18.9 percent, chrome ores by 12.3 percent, zinc by 3.2 percent.

Increase of pricing is also observed on wheat by 18.3 percent, wool by 1.6 percent, whereas the cotton prices decreased by 3.1 percent.
