Iran has invited three Russian companies to cooperate to increase the safety of workers at coal mines, Iran's Deputy Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade Jafar Sarqeyni said.

The priority of the Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mining and Trade is to protect the workers during their activity in the mines, Sarqeyni added, Trend reports referring to IRNA.

The deputy minister added that the Russian experts will explore the coal mines, conduct consultations with the Iran coal-mining association and propose solutions to remove weak points in the field of safety.

Sarqeyni said that four safety zones were established in four coal zones in Iran (Tabas, Kerman, East Alborz and Central Alborz).

So far, Iranian Mines & Mining Industries Development & Renovation (IMIDRO) has rendered assistance to the companies by purchasing security equipment. But that is not enough, the deputy minister said.

Sarqeyni said that if the security is not ensured well at any coal mine, the ministry does not allow the activity there.
