Russia ranks second in Georgia’s trade turnover

Russia ranks second in Georgia’s commodity circulation, Trend reports referring to the Georgian National Statistics Office (Geostat).

The foreign trade turnover between Georgia and Russia for nine months of 2019 amounted to more than $1 billion, which is 11.2 percent of the total trade turnover of Georgia.

During the reporting period, Georgia exported products worth $371.1 million to the Russian market, which is 13.6 percent of total exports.

In particular, the structure of exports to Russia included ferroalloys - $98.1 million, wine of fresh grapes - $92.2 million, mineral water - $43.9 million, centrifuges - $19 million, other spirituous beverages - $22.3 million.

For nine months of 2019, Georgia imported products from Russia in the amount of $661.3 million, which accounted for 10.2 percent of total imports. Petroleum and petroleum oils worth $139.3 million, wheat and meslin worth $61 million, coke and semi-coke from coal worth $23.8 million, sunflower oil worth $21.4 million, and petroleum gases and gaseous hydrocarbons worth $22 million were supplied from Russia to Georgia.

The external merchandise trade (excluding non-declared trade) of Georgia amounted to $9.1 billion in from January through September 2019, 0.5 percent higher year-on-year.
