Redeployment of Kazakhstan’s QAZAQ AIR to Kazakhstan’s capital Nur-Sultan city will allow the company to increase the number of routes to over 50 destinations, a representative of the company told Trend.

“The passenger tranffic of QAZAQ AIR has increased by 16 percent during 1H2019 compared to the same period of last year. The increase is mainly due to the optimization of the company’s routes network, as well as due to the expansion of the company’s fleet with two new De Havilland Canada Dash 8-400 planes,” the representative said.

He further added that purchase of De Havilland Canada Dash 8-400 is the first step in implementation of the QAZAQ air redeployment Nur-Sultan’s airport project.

“It is expected, that air fleet and operational services of the company will be redeployed to Nur-Sultan before the end of 2019, whereas relocation of company’s administrative office will be finished by 2020,” the official said.

The representative added that redeployment of the company’s air fleet in country’s geographical and political center will allow to more efficiently manage existing resources, increasing use of planes, as well as to significantly expand company’s routes network, and to offer more comfortable and accessible flights to the passengers.

“Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport’s geographical location is beneficial for realizing the potential of air transportation in the region. This is why, switch of Hub-and-Spoke model (network connects every location through a single intermediary location called a hub) will allow to expand company’s routes network and to increase passenger traffic,” he said.

Thus, he added, if the company currently connects 11 Kazakh cities via 13 routes, then following the redeployment to Nur-Sultan, the company will be able to increase the number of direct internal flights to 19 and to over 50 non-direct flights.

“Having added at least seven international routes to the neighboring countries, the routes network of the company will include over 20 cities,” he concluded.
