The results of negotiations between Azerbaijan's Gilan Textile Park and foreign partners regarding the supply of yarn to Europe have not yet been crowned with success, Chairperson of the Azerbaijani Textile Producers and Exporters Association, Director of Gilan Textile Park Mehriban Akhundova told Trend.
According to the director, the sides have not yet been able to agree on a number of important issues.
"The negotiations are about exporting yarn to Portugal. Previously, we planned to send the first batch of yarn to this market, and then fully establish stable supplies to Portugal. Unfortunately, today the issue of supplies to this market remains unsolved. In addition to exporting to Portugal, we also planned to deliver our products to Italy. Negotiations are ongoing in this direction," Akhundova said.
Gilan Textile Park further considers the possibility of exporting finished products to European markets, the director added.
The company's products are environmentally friendly and meet international quality standards.
In terms of production potential, Gilan Textile Park is considered one of the largest processing enterprises not only in Azerbaijan, but also in the entire region.
Gilan Textile Park, which uses cotton grown in Azerbaijan as a raw material for the production of various products, renders great support to the development of the Azerbaijani industry and agriculture.
The weaving, dyeing and sewing factories operate on the basis of the Gilan Textile Park, which launched its activity in Azerbaijan’s Sumgait city in 2012.
