Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov discussed the creation of a joint venture for the production of agricultural machinery and the development of promising financial mechanisms with representative of the US John Deere company as part of his visit to Washington, Trend reports citing the press service of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade.
The sides also raised question about the development of promising financial mechanisms that would facilitate the access of Uzbek farmers to the procurement of high-quality agricultural equipment.
In addition, the parties also held productive dialogue on the opening of the John Deere Training Center at the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation, which will systematically increase the level of qualification knowledge of domestic agricultural specialists.
Furthermore, Umurzakov held several meetings with leaders of the leading US companies such as Visa, CNH Industrial and others, discussing opportunities for establishing and expanding investment and trade and economic cooperation.
The prospects of the presence of VISA payment system in Uzbekistan were considered with representative of this company, which will strengthen the online payments in the country and harmoniously integrate the national banking and financial system into the global economic space.
In addition, the minister discussed prospects for expanding production localization, covering new market segments and increasing exports to third countries with representative of CNH Industrial, the largest manufacturer of agricultural, civil, military and specialized equipment, already having a number of joint ventures in Uzbekistan.
