Samarkand region continues to lead in Uzbekistan’s agricultural sector

Uzbekistan’s Samarkand region continues to lead in the total volume of products including services, in the country's agriculture, forestry and fishery industries, Trend reports citing Uzbekistan’s State Statistics Committee.

The region's share for 9 months of 2019 amounted to 13.6 percent, while Andijan and Tashkent regions occupy subsequent places with indicators of 10.7 percent and 9.9 percent, respectively.

According to preliminary data, the total value of products and services of agriculture, forestry and fishery industries in the country from January through September 2019 amounted to $16.5 billion, which is 2.4 percent more compared to the corresponding period of 2018.

The total volume of products and services in crop production and animal husbandry and hunting in these areas amounts to $16 billion (102.3 percent), in forestry - $ 423 million (102.1 percent), and fisheries - $77, 8 million (113.8 percent).
