Azerbaijan's export of satellite services increases

In January through September 2019, the volume of revenues of Azerbaijan's satellite operator Azercosmos OJSC from the export of satellite and telecommunication services amounted to $30.2 million, which is 81 percent more compared to the same period last year, Trend reports referring to the Export Review of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communications of Azerbaijan.

The volume of satellite services exports in September 2019 to 20 countries amounted to $2.2 million.

According to the review, the revenues of Azercosmos from exporting satellite services amounted to 88 percent of the operator’s total revenues.

In the nine-month period, the operator's services were provided to 24 countries, including the US ($9 million), Malaysia ($4.2 million), France ($7.8 million), the UK ($5.8 million) and the UAE ($1 million).

Azercosmos operates two communications satellites, Azerspace-1, Azerspace-2, and the low-orbit satellite Azersky.
