Iran’s Neka Power Generation Management Company to build thermal power plant

A 484-megawatt thermal power plant will be built in Iran’s Mazandaran province, Managing Director of Iran’s Neka Power Generation Management Company Mohsen Nemati said, Trend reports citing ILNA.

Nemati said that the new power plant that will be built near Shahid Salimi (Neka) Power Plant will have two gas units and one steam unit.

The managing director noted that each of the two gas units will be able to produce 162 megawatts of electricity and the steam unit will produce 160 megawatts of steam.

Nemati added that the plant will be put into operation in 2021.

The managing director said that four 440-megawatt old steam units, two 137.5-megawatt gas units and one 160-megawatt steam unit currently operate at the Shahid Salimi (Neka) Power Plant.

In addition, two turbines, each with the production capacity of 9.4 megawatts, operate at the plant, said Nemati.
